POLICE CALLS

A summary of recent criminal activity in Poland and Boardman townships:

POLAND

April 22

Domestic violence: Dennis E. Moritz, 62, was charged after his wife reported a situation at their home, 6751 Shawbutte Drive. She was not injured.

April 24

Theft: Several nail guns were removed from a home in the 2600 block of Highland Avenue for an estimated loss of $1,550.

Fraud: An Edgewater Drive woman found out her debit/credit card had been used without consent to make a $75 purchase.

Domestic violence: Calvin T. Vu, 35, of 3388 Swallow Hollow Drive, Poland, faced a charge after a teenage family member reported having been a victim during an argument.

April 25

Domestic violence: Ronald D. Bunofsky, 39, was arrested at his residence, 1774 Bedford Road, and charged after his wife had filed a report. She had a minor injury.

BOARDMAN

April 23

Theft: A man's cell phone was stolen in the 100 block of Forest Park Drive.

Assault: A Market Street woman reported her 15-year-old daughter was assaulted on a school bus. The girl had redness to her left cheek.

Criminal damaging: A Cook Avenue woman accused her enraged former boyfriend of breaking a double-pane window at her residence.

Theft: A worker at a Market Street business reported the theft of his $1,000 camera.

Assault: A girl, 17, suffered injuries after trying to separate two females arguing at a Boardman-Canfield Road fast-food restaurant. The victim reported having been punched and pushed to the ground.

Trespassing: Boardman authorities assisted Beaver Township police with serving a warrant in the 500 block of East Western Reserve Road, then charged 46-year-old Dayne F. Rambo, 258 E. Judson Ave., Youngstown, with criminal trespassing. The owner of the vacant residence said Rambo had no permission to be there, a report said.

Theft: Police booked 50-year-old Darlene Davis, 717 Winona Drive, Youngstown, after $179 worth of men's clothing was stolen from Wal-Mart, 1300 Doral Drive.

April 24

Breaking and entering: Someone entered a building in the 5600 block of Market Street before taking a pile of wrought-iron railings.

Theft: A 16-year-old girl was accused of stealing a hair product and a brush from The Hair Depot, 4026 Market St.

Arrest: Lori J. White, 41, of 2915 Hudson Ave., Youngstown, was taken into custody during a traffic stop in the 7100 block of Market Street. White was wanted on a probation-violation charge.

Theft: A man reported his 13-year-old son's skateboard stolen in the 100 block of Afton Avenue.

Criminal damaging: Two garage windows were damaged in the 5600 block of Erie Street.

April 25

Theft: Officers responded to an attempted suicide, then arrested 32-year-old Robert J. Jarrell, 1997 Wolosyn Circle, Boardman, upon learning he was wanted by Youngstown authorities on a felony theft charge.

Arrest: After responding to a disabled vehicle near East Midlothian Boulevard, officers arrested Keva L. Belton, 32, of 3715 Erie St., Youngstown, on a probation- violation count.

Theft: Loose change was missing from two vehicles in the 4000 block of Hudson Drive.

Theft/damage: Windows were broken on three cars in the 100 block of Danbury Drive, from which compact discs and money were missing.

Criminal damaging: A car window was broken in the 100 block of Prestwick Drive.

Attempted burglary: At an apartment in the 7000 block of West Boulevard.

Counterfeit: A township man reported getting a phony $5 bill as change while at a Boardman-Canfield Road business.

Theft: A man placed a take-out order at Applebee's Neighborhood Bar & Grill, 6691 South Ave., but failed to pay the $39.46 price.

Theft: A woman's wallet was stolen at a Market Street eatery.

Burglary: A Sony PlayStation 3 game system was taken from a Forest Park Drive home that had its front door forced open.

Drugs: Police conducted a check at an apartment in the 6300 block of South Avenue, where they found what they said appeared to be six or seven suspected marijuana plants growing under fluorescent lights, as well as three suspected marijuana pipes.

Burglary: To an apartment in the 7500 block of Market Street through an unlocked window. Sony PlayStation 2 and Wii systems, a laptop computer and a security badge were stolen.

April 26

Burglary: Took place in the 400 block of Afton Avenue. Stolen was a $500 gold-band ring.

Theft: Latashia L. Walker, 25, of 157 Gordon Ave., Campbell, was charged with stealing eight articles of children's clothing from Sears in Southern Park Mall.

Assault: Two people said they had been punched in the face or chest during a fight in the 5600 block of Tracy Drive.

Menacing: A woman told police she was threatened while at Southern Park Mall to pick up her daughter.

Theft: Four tires and rims were removed from a carport in the 5200 block of Old Oxford Lane.

Theft: A 26-inch bicycle and a combination lock were stolen at an apartment in the 500 block of Boardman-Canfield Road.

Theft: A woman stole miscellaneous clothing from Family Dollar, 4026 South Ave.

Theft: A man removed a box containing an unknown amount of merchandise from Babies "R" Us, The Baby Super Store, 1240 Doral Drive.

April 27

Burglary: To a residence in the 600 block of Pierce Drive via a rear window. Stolen was $140.

Theft: Vincent M. Kather Jr., 23, of 401 E. Montrose St., Liberty Township, was charged in the theft of a $30 men's wristwatch from Macy's in Southern Park Mall.

Arrest: Orlanda M. Dodson, 43, of 2905 Shady Run Road, Youngstown, was picked up near Midlothian Boulevard on a charge of failing to appear in court.

Theft: Several pieces of jewelry valued at a total of $550 were missing from an apartment in the 50 block of Lemans Drive.

Vandalism: Six windows were broken at Byzantine Catholic Central School, 5512 Youngstown-Poland Road.

Criminal mischief: Someone ransacked a vehicle in the 700 block of Canterbury Lane.

Theft: A $500 Wii game system was taken from a residence in the 200 block of Prestwick Drive.

Misuse of a credit card: An East Parkside Drive man discovered a $235 unauthorized purchase had been made with his debit card.
