Tony Hawk: Skaetboard Legend Leaves Third Wife for the Wife of His Bestfriend - Bleacherreport.com Posted: Jamie McDonald/Getty Images Tony Hawk is Not A Fan of Long Term Commitment It Seems Tony Hawk is a mastermind. The man is a founding father of modern skateboarding. He ushered in an era with his high-flying antics and skate-themed video games. He just can't seem to stay married. Fox News is reporting that the skateboard legend has divorced his third wife, Lhotse Merriam. That is not nearly the end to this story. No, it gets a lot more extreme. It seems Hawk took a shine to his best friend's wife, Cathy Goodman, at some point. He snagged Cathy from his childhood friend Matt Goodman. Neither Goodman nor Merriam had any comment for Fox News at the time. The couple did however release a joint statement, ""We remain deeply committed and loving parents to our daughter, and out of respect for that responsibility we ask that people honor our family's privacy during this important time of transition." This may be Hawk's business, but as always I have a take. I think the skate guru is getting a tad too comfortable with these "transitions." Marriage may just not be his thing. There is nothing wrong with that. You don't have to get married. Marriage is a privilege that far too many of us teat as a passing trend. We see it far too often. Couple get married like they were hooking up. If there was a marriage card given out to all humans upon birth, Tony's should be rescinded. It is very common for marriage to lead to divorce and then marriage again. That does not make it right. Now you have him taking up with his best friend's girl. There should be boundaries. I am just not sure what those are anymore. If anyone has an inkling, please clue me in. Related Story: The Hottest Fans of March Madness Do You Need A Little More Swagger In Your Step?
