Stars out in force for Gumball Rally - Utv Posted: 01 May 2010 02:12 PM PDT Stars out in force for Gumball RallyThe Wire star Idris Elba and movie actor Michael Madsen revved their engines to kick off the Gumball Rally today. Jewellery designer Jade Jagger and US singer Eve brought extra glamour to the proceedings as a host of super cars set off on the the 3,000-mile trip from London's Pall Mall to New York. However, there was no sign of Baywatch actor David Hasselhoff, who had been expected to take part in the event. Eve, who is part of a team of all-female drivers in a Bentley convertible GT, said: "We are representing for the whole female race. This is a boys' club for sure, but I love that we broke into the boys' club." She donned a figure-hugging leopard print outfit for the event, but swapped her towering wedges for flat boots before getting behind the wheel. Asked about her main concerns, she said: "I've never driven on the right side of the car so I want to get comfortable with that and I want to make sure I abide by the laws. I don't want to be the girl who gets pulled over and given a ticket." Also taking part were skateboard star Tony Hawk and US rapper Xzibit, who said he had not done anything to prepare. "No preparation, you just go. I just want to get from place to place, checkpoint to checkpoint safely. I'm just rolling with the punches." The 12th annual rally this year takes in Amsterdam, Copenhagen and Stockholm, where cars are flown to North America. The next leg includes Boston, Quebec and Toronto before finishing in New York's Times Square. © Press Association Five Filters featured article: The Art of Looking Prime Ministerial - The 2010 UK General Election.
